Today I have a video for you about the role the mouth plays in singing.
It might seem obvious that the mouth is a major part of the vocal instrument, but there can be confusion on just how it should be used.
Traditional instructions like, “the pharynx is the true mouth for the singer” and the advice to avoid mouthy pronunciation can lead singers to not including the mouth enough.
It is not uncommon to hear classical singers especially that sound like they are swallowing the sound. We often hear the complaint that the audience can’t understand the words of opera singers even when singing in English.
In this video I explain and try to demonstrate several important things the mouth is responsible for. And without them our singing will not be as good as we are hoping.
Hope this gives you something to think about.

That is false. Anthony Frisell is well alive . His student confirmed that with me & will be seeing him this weekend.
I’m looking for two books by Anthony Frisell (Antonio Frisella):
A Singer’s Notebook
and
The Art of Singing on Breath Flow.
Who can help me?
What sad news!
I learned from your Editor today that Anthony Frisell died
