Shortly after I published the last post about Laryngitis I suffered a scary vocal injury. While playing basketball I was accidentally elbowed in the side of the larynx.
It caused a hemorrhage on my right vocal fold and fractured the left superior horn of the thyroid cartilage. (I was hit on the left side)
In this video I show the exams from the day after the injury and 10 days after. This happened at the end of January, so it has now been over a month since the injury.
I have had my final follow-up exam which showed my vocal folds completely healthy. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a copy of that video.
But I feel pretty much back to normal and as a result of taking myself through voice rehabilitation I have been reminded of some important elements to vocal balance that I will be talking about in the future.
