The Arytenoid Cartilages are a pair of cartilages that act as the rear attachment for the Vocal Folds. They are also connected to the muscles involved in adjusting the approximation, lengthening and tensing of the Folds. While vocalizing we want them to be close together to position the Vocal Folds together.
